WhatsApp is now available to everyone without a smartphone connection – here’s how to use it.

After months of beta testing and unintentional teasers, Meta’s WhatsApp is finally releasing an update that allows users to use the messengers on other devices without needing to be connected to the internet via a smartphone. With this new feature, you can access your conversations from a PC or WhatsApp Web even if you don’t have a smartphone. However, only four devices can be connected to the platform at the same time.

The feature, which was promised in July, is now available to WhatsApp Beta users. It is now available on all smartphones thanks to the application’s most recent stable update. The feature can be enabled in the application’s “Linked Devices” section. You can find it by pressing the three dots icon in the app’s top right corner.

WhatsApp will display a notification the first time you enable this feature on your device. According to the message, all previously connected devices will be disconnected. As a result, you’ll need to log in again using the code sent to your device. After that, you’ll be able to use WhatsApp on your smartphone without an internet connection.

It’s worth noting that the feature will alter WhatsApp’s security code. As a result, don’t be concerned if you receive a message indicating that one of your friends has changed your application code. We anticipate that many of these messages will surface in the coming days.

Aside from the newly granted freedom to use WhatsApp, the company still guarantees that your data will be encrypted. The company had to modify its system to allow the use of multiple devices without the need for an internet-connected smartphone. Every one of your devices now has a unique ID and is linked to your account in the servers.

Limitations on iPhones

Aside from the arrival of these much-anticipated features, there are still some restrictions. One of which is only available to iPhone users. If your primary device runs iOS, it is not possible to clean or delete conversations on connected devices.

Another limitation is that WhatsApp does not allow this feature to be used on tablets. This may be a deal-breaker for those who were hoping to use their primary WhatsApp account on a tablet or iPad. Furthermore, the app will not allow calls or messages to devices running previous versions of the app. Connected devices are unable to see the real-time location and are unable to create or view broadcasts.

Every 14 days, you will still require your smartphone.

Last but not least, the feature does not eliminate the need for your smartphone. To get the code and connect other devices, you’ll need to use a smartphone as your primary device. Furthermore, if you do not open the WhatsApp app on your smartphone within 14 days, WhatsApp will disconnect all other devices.

How to use WhatsApp without a Smartphone

Connecting a new device is a simple process.

1: Launch the WhatsApp app and tap on the three-dotted icon in the top right corner of the screen.

2: Tap “Linked Devices,” then “Link a Device,” and the app will prompt you to scan a QR Code from web.whatsapp.com. If the “Join Multi-Device Beta” option appears for you, you may need to select it.

3: Navigate to the Whatsapp Web app and scan the QR code.
