Windows 11 SE announced, Teaching will be the main focus of the gadget

The story has been going around for a few days, and now it’s official: Microsoft has revealed Windows 11 SE and the Surface PCs that will go along with it. They’ll be designed for classroom use, with limited functionality and low-cost but low-power PCs.

The operating system was created specifically for educational purposes and will have numerous limitations to prevent distractions. Only administrators will be allowed to install programs from six categories: content filtering applications, test software, accessibility and classroom communication applications, essential diagnostics, administration, connection, and technical support applications, and browsers. Students will continue to be able to access web applications in their browsers.

The business also considered pupils who do not have access to the Internet at home. All Office apps will be available offline, and OneDrive will save files locally so that pupils may view and modify them at home. The modifications performed offline will be instantly synced whenever they return to their workplace and access an Internet connection.

The company also unveiled the Surface Laptop SE to coincide with the debut of the operating system. It is currently the cheapest computer in the line, at $249, about KES 28,000. It was designed specifically for students, featuring a high-quality but quiet keyboard, a 720p HD camera, a built-in microphone, and an 11.6-inch screen. The battery life is rated at 16 hours regularly, which is plenty for a school day. With a screen, battery, keyboard, and other components that can be repaired, it is also more repairable.
