Toyota Camry has been the company’s best selling sedan. For the 2022 version, the sedan is getting an upgrade, but no dramatic changes. The update will see one hybrid variant of the vehicle getting the Nightshade package and there are new color options across the lineup.
In case you are losing track, the Toyota Camry lineup has now expanded to over 10 variants: five hybrids (LE, XLE, SE, SE Nightshade, and XSE), three V6 models (XLE, XSE, and TRD), and five trims with four-cylinder engines (LE, XLE, SE, SE Nightshade, and XSE) available in front-wheel-drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD).
The Nightshade package will be a new SE Hybrid, as the name suggests, it will bring blacked-out appearance elements, it will include 18-inch black alloy wheels, black shark fin antenna, window trim, unique badging, along with gloss black door handles and mirror caps.
An upgraded safety package will now be available as well. The package, dubbed Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+, will add Automatic High Beams, and Road Sign Assist (RSA) which will work with the vehicle’s adaptive cruise control system. When activated, the vehicle will adjust accordingly to the speed limit of various sections of the road.
There will be upgrades on the rest of the Camry lineup as well, they include the Rear Seat Reminder which is now standard, along with dual-zone climate control (tri-zone will be standard in TRD version). On the dash, there will be an upgraded floating multimedia screen available in 7-inch or 9-inch sizes. LE and SE variants will now come with heated side mirrors as standard.
