Airtel Kenya has introduced a new data bundle that will allow its customers to use more data without fear of overage charges. The new ‘Bazu data bundle’ offer will allow customers to get more data at no extra cost for their monthly plans.
Prasanta Das Sarma, MD of Airtel Kenya, said in a statement, “We are delighted to launch these new data bundles that will offer our customers more data, more choice, and at no extra cost.” This complements our network expansion effort, in which we have rolled out a high-speed 4G network across the country. We believe in providing our customers with innovative products and services that allow them to live their lives worry-free by staying connected with friends and family, doing business, studying, and being entertained.
The new offering will include the Bazu 500 bundle, which provides customers with 7.5GB of data, divided into 250MB per day. The Bazu 1000 bundle provides customers with 1GB of data per day, which adds up to 30GB at the end of the month, while the Bazu 2000 bundle provides customers with 90GB of data per day, divided into 3GB increments. According to recent statistics from the industry regulator, the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA), mobile subscriptions in Kenya are on the rise, with a total of 64.4 million as of 30 June 2021, up from 62 million on 31 March 2021. (April-June 2021) (CA Fourth Quarter Sector Statistics). The increase in mobile subscriptions has been attributed to SIM card reactivation, particularly during school closures due to the pandemic, as well as data promotions that ran during the same period.
