Server-side updates are common for the Google Play Store, and another is currently on its way to users. For some, the Google Play Store is making it much easier to check for updates.
This new option, which can be found under Play Store > Settings > About, simply expands on existing functionality.
For some users, an “Update Play Store” button appears beneath the Play Store, allowing them to quickly and easily check for an upgrade to the app marketplace.
Before this change, the Play Store did provide a method for checking for updates to its app, but it wasn’t particularly user-friendly. Because there was no clear indication of this functionality, most users were unaware it existed.

According to the report, the new method is currently available only to Google Pixel 6 Pro users.
