Mustard Insights, a data visualization firm, has raised an undisclosed amount in a pre-seed round of funding to help it realize its goal of becoming Africa’s largest data repository.

The funds come from the company’s pre-seed round of funding, which was led by Velocity Digital and included a number of additional investors.

Mustard Insights, which began operations in January 2021, creates data visualizations and distributes them to a big audience via digital and social media platforms. Its purpose is to give consumers with information that will help them make decisions at various levels.

Mustard Insights will conduct market research for its clients and produce high-quality market studies in high-demand areas, as well as serve as a reliable source of African economic and social data. Mustard Insights intends to use the funds to expand its operations.

Lawretta Egba, the company’s creator and CEO, is a financial analyst, communications specialist, and data storyteller. Her career started in private equity, where she first encountered the lack of industry data as a vital input for investment forecasting. She holds an undergraduate degree in accounting and is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAN).

While the firm expects to launch its platform in March, it currently offers granular information to consumers through its weekly newsletter and social media channels.
