Applications open for Ashoka health-focused accelerator.

Social entrepreneurship network Ashoka and pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim have opened applications for their accelerator programme Making More Health (MMH).

Ashoka discovers and supports the world’s leading social entrepreneurs, learns from their innovations’ patterns, and mobilizes a global community to embrace these new frameworks in order to create a society where “everyone is a changemaker.”

The MMH accelerator is a structured business growth program with two phases that is currently in its fourth year. The “Pilot Phase,” which lasts 12 months, entails co-creation and pilot implementation of a high-impact strategic project or effort to help participating businesses develop, impact, and maintain themselves. It comes with a EUR50,000 (US$56,000) financial support.

Phase two, called the “Scale-up Phase,” lasts 12 months and follows the pilot phase’s successful completion. Businesses that advance to the scale-up phase receive additional funding of EUR100,000 (US$113,000) to EUR120,000 (US4136,000).

Co-creation is a major component of both phases of the initiative, involving hand-in-hand collaboration between social entrepreneurs and Boehringer Ingelheim workers who volunteer their time and expertise to the pilot and scale-up projects.
