The Norrsken Impact Accelerator in Stockholm, Sweden, is now accepting applications for selected early-stage startups from around the world to access support, mentorship, and US$125,000 in funding.
Norrsken was founded in 2016 by Niklas Adalberth, one of the founders of Swedish fintech unicorn Klarna, with the goal of helping entrepreneurs in addressing the world’s greatest challenges. Norrsken House, a co-working space in Stockholm for over 350 impact entrepreneurs, the Norrsken Founders Fund, and Norrsken VC make up the ecosystem.
The foundation launched offices in Kigali, Rwanda, in 2019, which it claimed it wanted to utilize as a basis for investing across the East and Central African region, and it welcomed 11 African startups into the first Norrsken Impact Accelerator last year.
African startups are being encouraged to apply for the accelerator’s 2022 edition, which is aimed to discover and scale the world’s most promising impact enterprises.
The programme includes an eight-week growth sprint at Norrsken House in Stockholm, as well as mentoring from a group of more than 50 entrepreneurs, investors, and unicorn founders. The Norrsken Foundation provides a US$125,000 upfront seed or pre-seed funding to all entrepreneurs.
The 20 participating companies have raised more than US$17 million in seed or pre-seed funding since being accepted into the 2021 program.
