It’s simple to turn off the battery charge % in the corner of your iPad or iPhone screen if you find it distracting. You can also switch the percentage back on at any moment on iPads and some iPhones. Here’s how to do it.
It’s fantastic to be able to see how much battery life is remaining on your cellphone. A numerical battery percentage can be seen in the upper-right corner of the screen on iPads and iPhones with home buttons (those without notches).
- To turn off the battery charge percentage, go to the home screen and tap “Settings.”
- Tap “Battery” on the “Settings” screen.
- To turn off the battery charge percentage on the status bar, go to Battery settings and tap the “Battery Percentage” switch.
- The “Battery %” switch button will become completely white to signify that it is turned off, and the battery charge percentage will vanish from the status bar.
- Return to Settings > Battery and toggle the switch beside “Battery Percentage” to the “on” position if you want the battery charge percentage to appear again. If you have an iPhone without a home button, you won’t see the “Battery Percentage” option in Settings. In that case, proceed to the next section.
How to See Battery Percentage on iPhones with Notches

- iPhone devices with notches in the upper area of the screen (such as the iPhone X, 11, 12, 13, and its variants) do not have the option to display the numerical battery % on the status bar, as previously stated.
- Instead, you may use Control Center to rapidly check the battery %. To do so, swipe your finger downward from the battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.
- The battery % will appear in the upper-right corner of the screen when Control Center appears.
