The Africa Fintech Summit is set to happen in Washington, D.C. again this year. The Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center will host the event on April 21, 2022.

The Africa Fintech Summit returns in April for another ecosystem-building gathering. Join over 60 speakers for a day of insightful live discussion panels and roundtables, catered networking lunch, startup exhibitions, the 2022 AFTS Awards, networking, and more. The theme for this year’s event is “The Africanization of Global Fintech.”The purpose is to look into sub-themes such as Africa’s Technological Inflection Point, Diaspora Banking and Remittance, Venture Capital Trends in Africa, Digital Banking, Web 3, Cryptocurrency, Fintech Regulatory Best Practices, US-Africa Tech Investment and Relationship, and more.

The Africa Fintech Summit has brought together investors, financial service providers, large enterprises, and tech start-ups for the past five years with the goal of boosting African fintech. Every year addressing the opportunities and challenges that fintech presents across commercial and social sectors, and it’s potential to grow economies and create wealth on the continent.

The summit has proven to be an ideal gathering place for founders, entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, global stakeholders, and regulators to come together and explore an unrivaled spectrum of perspectives while engaging in ecosystem-building discussions over the years.

The sixth summit in Cairo, Egypt, in 2021, focused on connecting the North African and Sub-Saharan fintech ecosystems. Over 1500 virtual participants from 31 countries joined the hybrid event, which included 391 in-person attendees from over 200 enterprises. The event has featured fintech and startup heavyweights from Africa and throughout the world for the past four years.

The summit was voted the most engaging event of the World Bank Spring Series. AFTS presents a premier opportunity to meet, learn, collaborate and have open dialogues with leading CEOs, Founders, policymakers, and critical thinkers whose work has had an important impact on Africa’s financial services ecosystem.
