Follow these instructions to book a bus online.

- Visit the Modern Coast Bus website.
- Enter your trip itinerary in the box provided and click the “Search” button to see available buses.
- On the following page, a list of buses in route to the given destination will be displayed, together with their prices, reporting times, and departure times.
- As shown below, click on the tiny brown tick next to one of the buses to see the available seats on that bus.
- To proceed to payment, select your desired seat(s) on the bus chart and click the “Submit” button. (There are brown-colored seats available.)
- Complete the blanks with your data. To apply for a discount, you can use a promotional code or the Modern Miles Card for regular clients.
How to Pay for Your trip.
Safaricom has partnered with bus companies to create an online service that allows travelers to book and purchase bus tickets around the country.

Customers can also call *877# to use the service, which accepts M-PESA payments.
- Customers can use the app to select a bus operator, trip date and time, and specific seat numbers.
- Travelers can also buy multiple seats, with tickets printed at the bus stop when the confirmation SMS is delivered.
- Then, from the list of payment options, select your preferred way of payment. You will get payment and booking details through SMS to the phone number you provided.
- Your seat(s) will be reserved for exactly 15 minutes, after which the reservation will be revoked if no payment is made.
- If you choose the MPESA payment option, you will receive an SMS with the modern coast express MPESA Paybill number and account number for Lipa Na MPESA.
- Modern Coast Bus will send you another SMS confirming your online bus reservation after you have completed your payment.
- The confirmation SMS also includes the bus ticket number. This note should be kept for future reference when picking up your ticket.
