Your Apple ID profile photo is utilized for a variety of purposes. It appears in Apple products’ email inboxes, the Settings app, and the App Store, among other places. However, you are not required to use the photo you choose while configuring your device. You can update the look of your Apple ID profile by altering your profile photo.
How to Change Your iPhone or iPad’s Apple ID Profile Photo
- Select Settings.
- [Your name] should be tapped.
- At the top of the screen, tap Edit in the photo.
- Tap Take Photo to take a selfie right then, Choose Photo to select a photo stored in your pre-installed Photos app, or Browse to browse images stored in the Files app.

- Tap the Choose button.

You can also alter your Apple ID Profile photo directly from your Mac computer.
- Navigate to the Apple menu.
- Navigate to System Preferences.
- Hover your cursor over your profile photo or icon in the window’s upper left corner.
- Select Edit.
- Choose from the pre-loaded photographs in Default, shoot a selfie by choosing Camera, browse your Photos app by clicking Photos, or use the Photo Booth app to snap a selfie. Position your selfie in the frame however you like.

If you don’t have access to a Mac computer, you can alter your Apple ID Profile image via iCloud on any computer. This is how.
- Log in to iCloud.com using the Apple ID whose profile photo you want to update.
- Account Settings will be shown.
- Hover your cursor over your profile photo or icon in the upper left corner.
- Select Edit.
- Drag a photo inside the frame and arrange it as desired.
- Click the Done button.
