WhatsApp Will Soon Allow You To Edit Text Messages That Have Already Been Sent

WhatsApp is introducing an edit button to its app.

You’ll be able to alter the text messages you’ve already sent in the near future. On the Meta-owned messaging network, this has been one of the most desired features. For the time being, users must either append an asterisk to a sent message or erase the entire message to correct mistakes.

The edit button will be a more efficient means of correcting your spelling mistakes.

When you long-press a sent message, a three-dot menu appears with choices including copy, modify, and info, as shown below. You may now make changes to the text and resubmit it. The test does not reveal if there will be a time limit or if the recipient will be told if a text has been modified, with the ability to view the original text (revision history), as Telegram does.

This functionality will be accessible to WhatsApp beta users on Android, iOS, and the web initially.
