I can’t count the number of times I have published articles on this site regarding the new MacBook Air(I might say that they were based on rumors). As far as we have to live with it, we are done with all the speculations concerning this particular gadget, and it is time to focus our attention on its capabilities.
The MacBook Air gets a complete makeover as it has not changed since 2018. The new MacBook Air gets a whole new chassis and an even more powerful Apple M2 CPU. This new MacBook Air is much slimmer than the previous model (11.3 mm vs 16.1 mm), and it adopts some of the design codes launched last year with the MacBook Pro 14 and 16.
So we have a chassis with somewhat rounded lines that comes in four colours (Silver, Starlight, Space Gray, and Midnight) and is mounted on four massive skids. Apple’s new MacBook Air has a MagSafe connector on the left edge of the connectivity front. On the other hand, the latter is still confined to two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 connections and a 3.5 mm jack.

There is also the addition of four speakers to the hinge between the keyboard and the screen and the move to a new Magic Keyboard keyboard that is similar to the one seen on the most recent MacBook Pro. The notch adorns the top of the screen and is a legacy of high-end models that we would have done well without.

The new MacBook also shouts in all segments thanks to its massive gain in performance which has been enhanced with a completely new M2 processor. Depending on the configuration, this new processor may have up to 8 CPU cores and 10 GPU cores, with up to 24 GB of RAM. This new CPU promises improved speed for sophisticated applications and up to 18 hours of battery life for the MacBook Air 2022, according to Apple.
