Global remittance platform Pesapeer secures license to operate in 6 additional countries in Africa

Pesapeer, a global financial remittance platform that launched in 2021 in Canada, has extended its license to cater for 6 more African countries including, Guinea, Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast and Cameroon and 2 Asian countries; India and Philippines.

Canadian immigrants who use Pesapeer will be able to make free, borderless transfers to these countries in addition to existing corridors like Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, European Union and the United Kingdom.

“Expanding our corridors will provide even greater access to the immigrant community in Canada and will provide an even greater level of security and confidence for our customers. It will also enable us to launch a host of new products and services in the near future”, said Tolulope Osho, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Pesapeer Inc.

Canada welcomes an average of 400,000 permanent residents per year . Most of these immigrants would periodically remit money to their loved ones frequently aside from remittance; they would also require a bank account for their daily spending needs.

The ultimate goal for Pesapeer is to provide digital financial services to immigrants from a single pane of glass; where they can spend, save, invest and remit money to their loved ones.
