Update your Android smartphone: These Five Security Flaws will Kill your smartphone

The newest Android security patch addresses several significant security flaws, including  Privilege escalation and remote code execution.

In June 2022, the Android security bulletin was released. The monthly security update addresses 41 vulnerabilities, five classified as critical. CVE-2022-20130 is the first serious security bug. It may lead to remote code execution without requiring extra execution rights since it is linked to the multimedia framework.

Then there are the CVE-2022-20127, CVE-2022-20140, and CVE-2022-20145 system vulnerabilities. Again, we’re dealing with significant security flaws that might enable hackers to execute code remotely without needing further rights.

The most recent major flaw affects Android smartphones using the Unisoc processor. Although this SoC is only found in a small number of smartphones, it is found in many entry-level tablets. The CVE-2022-20210 issue affects the modem built into the chip.

The remaining fixes all address high-severity security flaws. Qualcomm’s framework, system, kernel, and closed source components. The changes have already been released as part of the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). A device running an earlier version of Android than Android 10 will not be updated. The time it takes to obtain the security patch depends on how responsive the maker of your device is.
