Uber expands its Reserve at Airports feature globally

Uber global is expanding its Reserve at Airports feature globally to provide an opportunity for customers to plan their pick-up on time.

The feature adjusts your flight information so that your driver arrives when your flight is early or delayed, the driver will wait for 60 minutes to give you time to readjust and pick up luggage.

“Today, we’re announcing new updates geared toward making your airport travel experience smoother and simpler than ever before” the company reported.

You’ll be able to plan your airport pick-up in advance with Ubers Reserve at Airports feature as it lets you book a ride from the airport for up to 30 days in advance.

The Reserve at Airports feature was launched in 2020 in a couple of US Cities leading to an increase in Airport trips. The number of US airport trips on Uber grew to 15 per cent in the last two weeks of September, reaching a new high for 2021 and attracting many riders, including business travelers return to Uber.

The feature is now available in 55 airports across the world ,39 airports in the US alone and other regions outside the US such as Vancouver (YVR), Nice, Bologna, Cape Town Johannesburg, Milan, Paris and Rome. A full global rollout is expected to start soon.

“Even as more people hit the road again, it’s also true that air travel can feel more stressful and uncertain than before. At Uber, we’re focused on getting you where you need to be as efficiently and safely as possible—and constantly innovating to make your life a bit easier.”the company said earlier in a statement.

Uber also saw a double up in Airport gross bookings which were up by 166 per cent year over year.

ZDNet also reported that Uber’s rides from US guests in Europe are up nearly 500% year-over-year.
