Older iPhones and iPads won’t be supported by the Nintendo Switch Online app anymore

Remember to confirm that you can still use the Nintendo Switch Online app if you own an Apple tablet or smartphone. The Japanese corporation has recently stated that several older iPhone and iPad models would no longer be supported by its program.

If you use Nintendo Switch to play games, you are aware that Big N’s compact hybrid system lacks a chat option. Users must use the “Nintendo Switch Online” mobile app, which can be downloaded from the App Store and the Google Play Store.

The only Apple products that are the subject of today’s news are their products. Nintendo has officially confirmed through its Japanese Twitter account that the program will soon stop supporting older iPhones and iPads

According to the 9to5Mac website, the Nintendo Switch Online app’s requirements will rise in a few months, and versions of iOS earlier than 14 will no longer be supported. It continued to function with iOS 12 till today.

Nintendo may not have made this choice formally, but 9to5Mac points out that just 4% of newly launched iPhones and iPads are running iOS versions older than iOS 14. This specifically affects the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, first-generation iPad Air, and iPad Mini 3.

Without further ado, this update will be released throughout the summer. Owners of outdated Apple gadgets will sadly be excluded, even though they only make up a small portion of the market.
