Available for Windows 11, 10, 8.1, and 7 is the July Patch: Learn about the fixes in depth

Microsoft has a custom of releasing a significant security update for its still-supported operating systems on the second Tuesday of each month. This Patch Tuesday includes 42 updates for Windows 11, which are issued in the cumulative update KB5015814.

For its part, Windows 10’s editions 20H2, 21H1, and 21H2 have all received the cumulative update KB5015807. It is strongly advised to upgrade your system if you are running Windows 10 but are on a version earlier than 20H2 to take advantage of the most recent security information.

With the upgrade, Windows 10’s 43 security holes, including two severe ones, were patched (the same as on Windows 11). Downloads of cumulative updates KB5015874 and KB5015861 are available for Windows 8.1 and 7, respectively. These address 33 security flaws in Windows 7 and 35 security flaws in Windows 8.1.

While Windows 7 was solely impacted by the remote code execution vulnerability in the Windows Graphics Component, Windows 8.1 shared the same two serious flaws as Windows 10 and 11. If you missed one or more Patch Tuesdays, keep in mind that each update also includes the fixes and enhancements from the prior month.
