Google’s upcoming Pixel smartphones will have additional Samsung image sensors

Launching the Google Pixel 7 series of Pixel smartphones is fastly arriving. Despite Google giving us hints about its expected smartphone back at the developer’s conference sometime this year, much information is being sparked online concerning the range of smartphones. This time, the Pixel 7 series has been put forward to the limelight.

According to Kuba Wojciechowsk on Twitter and also confirmed by SamMobile, this time round, it is believed that the tech giant has preferred Samsung’s sensors. Three of the four cameras in the Pixel 7 Pro will use ISOCELL sensors.

Recent information indicates that, like the current generation of Google smartphones, ISOCELL GN1 will continue to serve as the primary sensor in the Pixel 7 Pro. The TV will switch from the present Sony IMX576 to the ISOCELL GM1, which has a resolution of 48 MP, while the ultra-wide novelty will be based on the Sony IMX 381 sensor with a resolution of 12 MP.

The front-facing camera still uses the 11 MP ISOCELL 3J1 as its sensor. If this is not biased, three of the four cameras on Google’s next flagship will use Samsung image sensors.

The usage of the same ISOCELL GN1 primary sensor, which is as excellent as that found in the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7, is suggested by the new data, which is significant since the foldable smartphone was previously thought to employ an outdated Sony 12-megapixel sensor.
