Xiaomi launches the Buds 4 Pro, a wireless headphone with 48 dB ANC  and Hi-Res audio

As promised by the manufacturer, Xiaomi held its August 2022 meeting, whereby its most advanced wireless earbuds were unveiled.

Xiaomi has equipped its new headphones with 11 mm diameter transducers capable of ensuring a frequency response of 20 to 40,000 Hz. The headphones are also Hi-Res Audio Wireless certified, compatible with the classic AAC and SBC codecs, and with the LHDC 4.0 codec via Bluetooth 5.3.

One of the most impressive features of the Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro is the active noise cancellation (ANC). Because this should dampen disturbing ambient noise by a considerable 48 dB, an AI wind detection should ensure that strong wind can be hidden. The earphones have drivers with a diameter of 11 millimeters. Xiaomi promises wireless Hi-Res sound, but without giving more details about the supported codecs.

The headphones are also IP54 certified and are therefore splash-proof. Spatial audio is also included, provided you use a compatible Xiaomi smartphone. For now, however, note that only the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 and 12S Ultra – only launched in China – are announced as supporting this feature.

The earphones offer virtual surround sound with head tracking, which should be available regardless of the connected device. The battery life can surpass most competitors because the Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro, according to the manufacturer, can withstand nine hours of music playback. The charging case stores enough energy to charge the earbuds three times fully.
