Samsung introduces the Odyssey G9, A first OLED PC screen

The  South Korean Guru presented its Firs PC screen with an OLED panel(Odyssey G9) late yesterday at IFA. The brand says it’s a display explicitly made for Video games

The Odyssey G9 takes advantage of a  34-inch OLED screen with a 21:9 format, 3440 x 1440 pixels resolution, and a refresh rate of 175 Hz. There is also a VESA DisplayHDR 400, a True Black certification, FreeSync Premium, and 99.3% coverage.

This OLED screen is developed in conjunction with Quantum Dot technology; thus, Samsung Electronics is knocking on the same door. Incorporating a properly operating system inside the display is a pleasant surprise and a chance for Samsung to set itself apart from Alienware.

The Samsung Odyssey G8 Oled display has Samsung Smart Hub and Gaming Hub, much like the company’s Smart Monitors. Users can also, at the same time, enjoy streaming services like Amazon Prime and Netflix, as well as video services like YouTube and operator offerings (OTT).

Nvidia GeForce Now and Xbox Cloud Gaming, the two most popular cloud gaming services, are now available thanks to the Samsung Gaming Hub. So, without a PC or console, you can play Fortnite and all the other games in the library using a simple controller.

Finally, despite the product’s inherently imposing size, Samsung has decided to include a Micro HDMI (2.1) and a miniDP 1.4 in addition to a USB-C connector. The Samsung Odyssey Oled G8 will be offered in the fourth quarter of 2022. The cost of the product has not been made public by the brand.
