iFixit’s teardown of the Apple AirPods Pro 2 reveals that they have a short lifespan

The second-generation Apple AirPods Pro were disassembled by iFixit, which destroyed the wireless earphones.

Like their predecessors, Apple’s most recent earbuds are impossible to fix, although other manufacturers have demonstrated that there are ways to make earbuds repairable.

Better sound and a few new capabilities are promised by the Apple AirPods Pro of the second generation, but the style hasn’t changed. Unfortunately, as the iFixit deconstruction video demonstrates, this also applies to the construction.

The wireless earbuds’ plastic housing can hardly be opened without breaking it. The battery and most plugs have been extensively covered in adhesive, making removal challenging. iFixit needed to split the case in half to eliminate the antennae and touch controls.

To gain access, iFixit also had to obliterate the charging case. Because of this, they are changing the batteries in the charging case or the earbuds is nearly impossible. Because batteries only last a few years before their capacity and battery life drastically decrease, and there is a chance that an ageing battery will almost no longer be able to hold a charge, this reduces the lifespan of the second-generation AirPods Pro.
