New Polestar 3 SUV to Share SPA2 Platform with Volvo

Polestar is coming up with its first all-electric SUV, the Polestar 3 on the 12th of October. The company released details of the new machine in its official statement.

The Polestar 3 is built on a brand new SPA2 platform which the company will share with Volvo. Its safety systems is based on Volvo’s designs alongside the ADAS that is powered by NVIDIA and supported by a wide range of technology from Luminar, Smart Eye and Zenseact.

Polestar confirmed that models of Polestar 3 will have a dual-motor AWD system which will be rear-biased and completed with torque vectoring. A dual chamber air-suspension that consistently adjusts to road conditions at a rate of 500 times per second will be standard. Polestar 3 resembles the upcoming Volvo EX90 and will share the new platform.

The optional Performance Package turns the power all the way up to 510hp and 908Nm of torque and sharpens up the suspension. The air-suspension is tuned by the Polestar Engineered performance team to accommodate more spirited driving.

Yellow seat belts and golden valve caps in the wheels which are Polestar’s signature are present. Polestar 3 will be the first car from the company manufactured in the US and will be made at the Volvo factory in South Carolina

The new machine destined for the Chinese market will be manufactured in China to minimize the terms of trade especially in exports. Production will begin early next year in both China and US with deliveries to follow after a few months after.
