“Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” movie trailer brings back vintage car action

The seventh installment of the live-action Transformers film series has been released, and its first trailer serves as a teaser for what to expect from the film. Surprisingly, both the vehicles and the Transformers in robot mode resemble designs from the original 1980s and early 1990s cartoons.

The film is a sequel to 2018’s “Bumblebee,” and it is believed to be set in 1994, which makes sense given the vintage of the vehicles involved.

A Kenworth K100 can be seen in the trailer as the vehicle mode of Autobot leader Optimus Prime. The Autobot faction also includes a second-generation Chevrolet Camaro as Bumblebee, a 964-generation Porsche 911 likely as Jazz, a Volkswagen Microbus likely as Wheeljack, and a Ducati 916 motorcycle likely as Arcee.

We also know that the Terrorcons, the film’s bad guys, will have an R33 Nissan Skyline GT-R, a heavily modified Kenworth JF logging truck, and a GMC tow truck.

Although Michael Bay is listed as a producer, this will be the second film not directed by him. The director this time is Steven Caple Jr., who is probably best known for his work on “Creed II.”

Optimus Prime is once again voiced by Peter Cullen, while Optimus Primal, the leader of the Maximals, is voiced by Ron Perlman. Michelle Yeoh as Airazor, Peter Dinklage as Scourge, and Cristo Fernández as Wheeljack are among the other voice actors in the film.
