Volkswagen previews ID.2all, an inexpensive electric car costing less than 25,000 euros

Volkswagen (VW) has unveiled the ID.2all concept. The concept car is expected to cost less than €25,000, which VW says will make it “as cheap as a Polo.”

According to the WLTP, the ID.2all will have a range of up to 450 km (279 miles) while being as spacious as a Golf . It is based on VW’s new MEB Entry platform and is one of ten new electric models set to be released by 2026. However, the production version of the ID.2all will be unveiled in 2025.

The design of the back is definitely reminiscent of the Polo, and the overall external dimensions seem similar too. The ID.2all is 4,050 mm (159.4″) long, 1,812 mm (71.3″) wide, 1,530 mm (60.2″) tall, and its wheelbase is 2,600 mm (102.3″). The “storage volume” is billed at 490 to 1,330 liters.

The ID.2all will be VW’s first front-wheel-drive EV. The single motor will produce 166 kW / 222 horsepower, with a top speed of 160 km/h (100 mph), as with the other IDs. It is claimed that the time from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) is less than 7 seconds.

The front has a full-width lighting element between the headlights. While the inside has a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. There’s also a newly developed HVAC control panel with illuminated buttons that sits beneath the screen, and the menus are controlled by a control knob in the center console.
