After the fall of the mighty Nokia phone division, a group of its employees came together to form HMD (Human Mobile Devices) Global, a company that made devices with the Nokia branding and signature qualities like durability. However, HMD has announced its dropping the Nokia branding and instead focus on its own devices.

The company made the announcement while also taking the opportunity to tease its upcoming product portfolio of devices which include smartphones, tablets and wireless earbuds. There are rumors suggesting we may see the first HMD-branded smartphones at MWC Barcelona which is taking place February 26-29.

It is also of note that HMD’s official website states that the Finish company are the “Makers of Nokia phones” which may imply upcoming Nokia branded feature phones but that is mere speculation for now.

HMD plans on bringing tough, fun, secure, fast, and affordable new phones. Most of the current Nokia branded smartphones and tablets are on discount while supplies last.

In case you are thinking this is the last trace of Nokia, you will be surprised to know that Nokia Corporation is still a global leader in network equipment and is a leading patent licensor in the mobile tech space with over 6,000 patent families essential to 5G.
