Bamira Launches to Help You Do Your Personal Shopping

Almost everyone can relate to being occupied with so many tasks, that you wish there was someone who could help you clear up a few of them. For those shopping tasks that you can’t seem to find time to do, Bamira was launched to help you out.

Bamira, meaning “help me buy it” in Yoruba, was founded in October 2016 by Mayokun Ogunleye. The personal shopping platform helps consumers shop for anything. According to the founder, “We are not limited to any specific item. We shop for any and everything locally available, from gadgets and clothing, to more perishable goods like groceries and cupcakes, at super affordable cost.”

From busy professionals who barely have time to step out form their work desks for shopping, to those who do not have an idea of where to find an item, Bamira fills in for them, and takes up the shopping stress.

How it works? Users fill a form on the website with a description, quantity and budget of what they want to buy. Once done with the form, one of Bamira’s professional shopper get in touch with user within minutes and carry them along till they receive their purchase. Delivery is currently only in Lagos, with plans for expansion to other cities in the nearest future.

Users are charges based on the price of what they are shopping for. For example, products worth N500 – N5000 attract a charge of N600, and products worth N20000 and above attract a N2000 charge.

Unlike grocery delivery platforms like Supermart.ng and Gloo.ng, which works like regular eCommerce platforms where users have access to products from from different supermarkets, and then make their orders, Bamira comes with a difference, allowing users to simply type in what they want. This helps reduce limitations on what users can purchase, and should give the platform an edge over its competitors.
