Exclusive Behind-the-scenes Pictures Of Jason Njoku At BBC Africa Focus Interview

Dumor and Njoku share a joke copyWe like Jason Njoku, founder and CEO of iROKOtv, and admire what he is doing for African artists and entrepreneurs.

Yesterday he interviewed by Komla Dumor at BBC Broadcasting House for the BBC’s daily Focus on Africa programme.

In the interview, Njoku and Dumor discussed Nollywood and the success of iROKOtv as the world’s largest online distributor of Nigerian movies, as well as how iROKOtv has been able to bring Nollywood to a global audience, by streaming thousands of movies online. In the live interview, the two men also discussed the African tech scene and how it is being revolutionised by a new and exciting wave of young entrepreneurs.

“For me, to go on to BBC Focus on Africa and talk about iROKO and how the Nigerian tech scene is making being waves, is a real pleasure. I’m super happy that Nigeria is being recognised for its entrepreneurship and emerging Internet sector and is more prominent on the world media’s agenda than ever before. In the long-term, I hope that exposure like this will not only encourage young tech geeks like myself to follow their dreams and start up a business, I also hope that potential investors, both from Nigeria and abroad, will consider how they can contribute to the Internet eco-system here and capitalise on the many opportunities here on the continent”.
