Kenya’s Kejamove is a premier moving company in Kenya that offers moving services to thousands of clients in the country. They come to your place, pack, wrap and load your items onto their trucks, drive to the new place and and redo everything, as it was.
Launched in 2016, at a time when a number of moving companies were already in the market, Kejamove faced a stiff challenge to find a niche as well as establish itself. Well, 2 years on, we caught up with kejamove’s founder Joshua Mutua to find out about their progress.
It’s been over 2 years since you launched. What have you learnt about the market that you did not know?
The most surprising thing for us was how well we were received in the market. There had been a need for a moving service that cared about it’s customers and thus we came into the market at a time when most customers were getting skeptic about moving companies.
We focused on offering value for money and we are very thankful that our customers appreciated our service.
What differentiates you now from other moving companies?
Our biggest differentiation is personalization. We treat each customer as the king or queen, knowing that one good customer review will lead to 3 other customers referred to us. That simple tactic, that we’ve ingrained in our team, has worked wonders for us.
What’s your advice to a startup founder wishing to get into the logistics business?
I would tell them that customer focus is key in the service market. Knowing and owning your customer journey, from their entry to exit points should always be on top of their priorities. A happy customer makes a happy company.
