Taxify now fully operational in Abuja. Launches with price slash and unbelievable rates

Following the news about how the expansion of Taxify to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja in Nigeria was trending across social media in the country, the cab hailing and hire platform is now fully operational in the city.

In a message sent via email to all users of the cab hire platform in Nigeria, Taxify announced that all residents or visitor inhabitants in the country’s capital will enjoy a price slash of 40% when they book a ride.

“We are excited to announce that we are launching in Abuja today. Yes, we are in Nigeria’s capital with all rides -40% OFF!”, the mail reads.

For Abuja Taxify users, the cost of all and any trip will be calculated based on the new massively trimmed rates below.

  • ₦130 trip start
  • ₦33 per km
  • ₦3 per minute
  • Minimum ride fare is ₦300
  • Airport to City and City to Airport rides at a flat fare of ₦2300

Compared to Taxify’s normal rates in the country, the new rates which applies to Abuja alone is a remarkable reduction which will go a long way in pulling in new customers for Taxify and increase the region’s adoption rate of the platform.

To reiterate, the above rates applies to “Abuja Taxify” only. Taxify users in other region of the country will be billed using the normal rates (as shown below);

  • Base Fare/ Trip Start: ₦325
  • ₦72 per Kilometer
  • ₦7 per minute
  • ₦400 minimum ride fare.

Like the price /rate slash isn’t enough, Taxify is also offering users a thousand naira (N1,000) discount of their first ride in Abuja. To get this discount, users are directed to input the code “HELLOABUJA” during payment.
