South Africa’s mobile social network, Mxit, has today appointed its acting CEO Francois Swart as CEO, full capacity.
Swart was appointed acting CEO October last year after Alan Knott-Craig Jnr fell out with shareholders and stepped down.
Formerly Mxit’s chief financial officer Francois has earned the trust and respect that Knott-Craig Jnr faield to. He is in right standing with the management team, staff and the shareholders.
Paul Harris, a shareholder said Swart has come out as proactive ad has been at the forefront of transforming the firm.
With over 7.4 million users according to World Wide Worx and Fuseware, Mxit is a major social network in Africa and Swart is sure he will drive it to greater heights. He cites that with the introduction of smartphones, the mobile landscape is so dynamic and competitive but the firm will still forge ahead.
Do you think Swart will drive the firm to greater heights as he promises or he will be blocked by shareholders like his predecessor?
