MTN Partners Simfy On Music Streaming.

For only R49 per month, MTN customers will now be in a position to listen to all their favourite music through streaming thanks to the telecommunications partnership with Simfy. Subscribers will access the service through multiple devices including their computer, tablet and smartphone.

The move by MTN makes it the first telco in SouthAfrica to unleash a streaming music service. Users will be required to register at https://www.mtn.co.za confirm their log- in details then download the Simfy Africa mobile application from their mobile devices.

Established in 2012, Simfy has build on its services and is currently a service on demand across borders. The web-based service also offers a cross-platform client based on Adobe Air with library content from the four major record labels also offering social networking where users can share playlists and follow others to see what music they listen to.

Customers will have an access of about 23 million songs that include a wide range of content that is African but largely local music that includes kwaito, Afrikaans, hiphop and SA rock. The service also allows its customers to cache songs for offline playback where they can access their music instantly by setting up playlists of choice in their devices.
