imfinixWe have been using the Infinix Hot X507 for sometime and we are happy with its design and perfomance. Its pricing in Kenya makes it an affordable phone for those who have always wanted to have a smartphone without breaking a bank.

Design

Infinix Hot comes in Black, Yellow, Red and White. All the colours to make you stand out of the crowd. The phones are designed in France and then assembled in China.

The left side edge of the phone is smooth and shiny and it’s blank while the top edge has an earphone jack on the left-end and charging port on the top right-end. On the other hand, the right edge has a volume button at the top and a power button immidiately after it.

infi The top front face has a section for a speaker and a 2MP camera at the top right while at the bottom, there’s a home button in the middle, a back button on the right and a menu button on the left. The back cover has a 5MP camera and flash at the top, followed by the Infinix logo and the phone’s brand HOT at the bottom. The Gorilla Glass display gives the phone the sturdiness it needs.

The 5 inch phone is sleek, easy to hold in the hand and the buttons are well placed for use. Its edges are smooth and sturdy made from plastic. The back cover is a bit rugged for easy handling during use. With two SIM cards – a micro-SIM card and a mini SIM card users are good to go for Airtel’s voice and internet and Safaricom’s M-PESA.

 Perfomance

For music, we loved the phone’s speakers so much. Even the earpiece is powerful, churns out loud and pure sound unlike some phones we have used in the same price and specs range. The Infinix Hot X507 has a wide 5.0 Inch FVWGA display which is good for reading and playing games and multiple social media use as well as watching videos.

Because it runs on Android OS 4.4.2 Kit Kat,and has a 1.3 GHz Quad Core Processor, we could use it to run several apps in the background without it failing us.

infcu We could play games with it, open up several tabs and still chat and text on the go minus crashing it. With a 2000mAh battery, the phone could do 6 hours straight on 3G and more on voice and texting alone. Music, 3G, text and social media could cut the battery after a straight 4 hours but for any smartphone, we think it’s pretty okay.
The 5MP primary and 2MP secondary camera were not great for our Instagram fans but for that price, no one should complain. Off course we hated the zoomless camera as we couldn’t take photos of things or people a few meters away clearly.

infid Infinix has to put zoom on this thing to make it work as people want to take pictures with their phones than just call and text.
No complains on the screen as  the 5 inch could do YouTube well but we thought it had a somewhat not so good screen resolution as you would see with some photos.

Inclusion

The phone is affordable and is worth your money with all it has. If you are a photo person you would want to wait for another Infinix model with ability to zoom all your lens but the phone is good for browsing, music and light gaming. If you are heavy gamer, some of the heavy games from Gameloft will definately hang on you. The phone is great for basic social media use, voice, text, reading, watching movies and music videos and as well listening to radio, recording and office use-say email, calculator, skype among others. It’s storage is also enough for videos, evet photos and music. For guys who love apps, you can download as many as you want if you add a microSD storage.
