After raising $5m funding from Kinnevik AB, and launching an Android app, DealDey, Nigeria’s daily deal site has partnered with FedEx to help get orders to buyers wherever they are.
The deal will see customers choose any FedEx pick up locations close to them for delivery of their items. The deal also adds new locations to DealDey pick up centres for better service delivery.
According to DealDey the partnership will put it in a position to serve more customers nationwide and increase its market share.
“We are excited to inform our highly esteemed customers that in our expedition to serve you better and provide quality service nationwide we now have a partnership agreement with FedEx who has a pedigree in courier services and have their tentacles spread across the country to combine their locations as part of our pick up centres.”
Founded in 2011 by Konga’s Sim Shagaya, DealDey has moved from just being a daily deals site to a sort of discount store for the best things to do, see, eat, and buy in Nigeria. The firm says it aims to support local businesses to create a “win-win” situation for both merchants and consumers.
