First off, Infinix has a habit of using same processors across different product lines. The Hot and Smart series share the MediaTek 6580 between them (same way that the ‘S’ and the Note series share the Mediatek 6753). The Hot 5 and the Smart have the same processor, similar Dirac 3D sound widening technology in their dual front facing speakers and the same 8MP rear cameras.
However, it seems that similarities end there. The remaining specifications are quite different. Here’s a quick rundown. The differences are highlighted in bold.

As you can see, both phones do not support 4G network. Infinix has traditionally preserved that feature for Pro versions of every line. Meanwhile, the Hot 5 obviously outshines the Smart in many areas as highlighted above, but the key fundamentals are similar, namely rear camera, CPU, loud speakers and big batteries relative to the phone size. So which one do you prefer?
