We are mere minutes away from a new iPhone launch. Rumor has it that 3 models will be released tonight, a first for Apple. Tonight’s event will be marking the iPhone’s 10th anniversary, so expect a lot of surprises. Speaking of, we have two for you already, the first one reveals Geekbench scores of the new Apple A11 processor expected to be running on the iPhone 8, while the other one is a real-life video showing the color options available.
Starting with the benchmark, Geekbench is one of the few metrics used to gauge devices from different operating systems. Android phones and Apple’s iOS are pitted against each other here. Today’s leak helps us gauge the power of Apple’s new processor against the Android heavyweights like the Samsung Galaxy S8 and HTC U11. To understand how powerful the Apple A11 is, you need to know that HTC U11 was crowned the most powerful phone currently on android. It runs the Snapdragon 835, which is also the same CPU that is on other powerhouses like the new Galaxy Note 8, LG V30, Sony Xperia XZ1, as well as all flagships from the top manufacturers, heck even the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 that was launched yesterday. The quad core snapdragon 835 got a 1911 on single-core score and 6529 on multi-core score. In case you are wondering about the alternative processor used in the Galaxy S8, the Exynos 8895 Octacore, it raked in 1945 on single-core score and 6312 on multi-core score.
Having that in mind, you will be amazed to see what the Apple A11 CPU scored. Drums roll please….it got a whopping 4061 on single-core score and 9959 on multi-core score.
I know it sounds too good to be true, especially considering that it is only a 6-core CPU with only 2 high performance cores and the other 4 tuned for battery efficiency. Now, more often than not, Apple CPU’s gets higher on the single-core score since the iOS system is designed to maximize each core available unlike Android which runs best when all cores work together. Luckily we only have to wait until 8PM EAT time when Apple goes on stage to confirm everything.
The other leak is shows a video displaying all the available iPhone 8 colors. Special attention has been put on the red version, that color is usually called (PRODUCT) RED, the money from its sales is usually donated towards the fight against AIDS, so major respect to everyone out there with a red iPhone. This will mark the first time Apple releases the red version on launch date. See you later tonight with when we bring to you everything that is revealed in Apple’s event.
