The ministry of health has rolled out a new system that will be verifying COVID-19 certificates.

Cabinet Secretary for Health, Mutahi Kagwe confirmed that the ministry has rolled out an online system to authenticate and verify COVID-19 certificates.
“I, therefore, wish to notify travelers to first visit an authorized laboratory to take an RT PCR COVID – 19 test and be issued with Trusted Travel ( TT ) codes that can be verified by airlines and Port Health authorities,” he said.
“In-bound travelers from countries yet to onboard to the Trusted Travel Initiative will use a tool made available through the UNDP – supported global. Haven partnership for COVID – 19 test results and vaccine certificates verification.”
Allegedly there have been people who tested positive initially but managed to get fake results thereafter. Fortunately with this system airlines and traveling companies will have an easier time since the certificates produced will have to go through the verification process. The COVID results would have to have the TT codes as of 9th January 2021.
This new development is a partnership between the UN institutions, UN institutions, AU bodies, technology companies, telecom operators and standards organizations. Before you receive the travel code you must have met all the requirements of Kenya.
