Gozem appoints Othmane Bouhlal, co-founder of French ride-hailing firm Chauffeur-Privé’s to its board

Gozem, Africa’s Super App, has appointed Othmane Bouhlal to the advisory board of the company as it prepares to enter new markets and scale its business.

Othmane Bouhlal co-founded Chauffeur-Privé in Paris in 2011, and grew the company to become one of the most successful mobility startups in Europe, leading the company to its 2017 acquisition by Daimler, the German automotive giant. Chauffeur-Prive was rebranded to Kapten in 2019 and then merged with Free Now in 2020.

He will help Gozem’s management align its operations with its targeted growth trajectory.

Gozem currently operates in 9 cities in Togo and Benin with more than 400,000 registered users that have completed more than 2 million trips since its launch in November 2018.
