It’s easier said than done if you want to save a few favourite Instagram photos. There is no native option for downloading other people’s Instagram images, so you’ll have to rely on third-party software to get the job done.
Here are two approaches to try on Android and PC devices.
Download Gram is the first method for downloading images from Instagram on Android.
- Launch Instagram on your device and navigate to the image you want to save.
- Tap the icon to the right of the image (three vertical dots).
- Choose the “Copy Link” option.
- Download Gram’s website can be found at www.downloadgram.com.
- Copy the link and paste it into the text box (long press and tap “Paste”).
- Tap “Download,” then “Download image.”
Fast Save for Instagram is the second method.
- Fast Save for Instagram is available for free in the Google Play Store.
- Launch the app, enable the “Fast Save Service,” and then tap “Open Instagram.”
- Tap the download icon to the right of the image you want to save (three vertical dots).
- To download the image to your device, select the “Copy Link” option.
- Downloaded images can be viewed in your gallery or within the FastSave for an Instagram app.
How to Download Instagram Images on a PC
The first method is to use DownloadGram.
- Go to Instagram’s website and look for the image you want to save.
- The “…” icon (three horizontal dots) will bring up a few options.
- Select the “Go to post” option and then copy the page’s URL.
- DownloadGram’s website can be found at www.downloadgram.com.
- Copy and paste the link into the text box.
- Tap “Download,” then “Download image.”
Method number two: Save-o-gram
- Save-o-gram can be downloaded from www.save-o-gram.com and opened once installed.
- To view Instagram images, enter a username, hashtag, or link into the text box at the top.
- Choose the images you want to save.
- Click either “Download selected photos” or “Download as a ZIP file.”
Bookmark images on Instagram
If all you want to do is save images to view later, you don’t need to download them — just bookmark the ones you like.
The steps are as follows:
- Launch Instagram on your device and navigate to the image you want to save.
- To save the image, click the bookmark button to the right of it.
- To view all of your saved images, go to your profile, tap the menu icon in the top-right corner, and then select the “Saved” option.
