On Android and iOS, Twitter allows users to upload images in 4K resolution, allowing your followers to see the same image that you captured. Here’s how to enable the feature quickly.
Twitter hopes to change that with the addition of high-quality 4K image support on both iOS and Android. Users will be able to upload a 4K image and then view it in the same resolution when they go to their profile — their followers will also see the same quality.
If you went through your Twitter settings and couldn’t find an option to enable 4K image uploading and viewing, it’s because Twitter didn’t include a separate setting for the feature. Instead, follow the steps below to begin uploading and viewing 4K images from your smartphone:
- Tap the ‘hamburger’ menu at the top left corner of the screen from the main feed on the Twitter app (this works on iOS and Android).
- Select Settings and Privacy from the new pull-down menu.
- Now, go to Data Usage and look for a setting called High-quality images, which you should set to Mobile data and Wi-Fi.
- Look for the High-quality video setting, which is just below the previous image setting, and set it to mobile data or wifi.
It is recommended that you set both the image and video settings to Mobile data and Wi-Fi so that you can always upload and view images in 4K resolution.
You will only be able to see 4K content if the uploader has posted it in that resolution, so even with the setting enabled, some images may still appear in less than 4K resolution.
