EA offers the possibility to consult the content of loot boxes before their purchase on FIFA

Over the past two months, Electronic Arts have been singled out both for its strategy of orienting players towards the loot box system and for its astronomical recipes thanks to them. A subject that puts the publisher in a lousy position in the face of justice, but he tries to prove his good faith.

To restore its image a little in the face of the allegations against it, Electronic Arts seems to want to test features around FIFA loot boxes. The first trial before a permanent implementation?

Limited-time preview

Since last Friday, June 18, the FUT store of the FIFA game has implemented a new feature around loot boxes that allow you to obtain new cards from players. In addition, instead of the complete mystery related to the opening of the packs, it is now possible to view the content of these before choosing to buy them or not.

Nevertheless, you suspect that Electronic Arts will not let you preview the FUT packs until you come across the player of your dreams. Thus, if you choose not to buy the previewed pack, you will have to wait a certain amount of time before retrying your luck with new content.

With this function, Electronic Arts have the merit of offering more autonomy to players in their decision to give in, yes or no, to the sirens of loot boxes. Thus, the publisher counterbalances the total chance of its system with a little more fairness and respect for the consumer. However, this is only a temporary trial at the moment.

The preview is available as part of the football Festival, which ends on July 16. For the moment, therefore, this feature is only planned for one month, but let’s bet that this trial of Electronic Arts is a first step in the right direction.
