Jambojet launches flights to Goma in the Democratic Republic of the Congo

Jambojet has begun flights to Goma, the capital of North Kivu Province in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. It becomes the route’s first low-cost carrier, as well as the only direct flight between Nairobi and Goma.

The airline will fly to Goma International Airport twice a week, on Monday and Friday, from its hub at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. As demand grows, this will be increased to four times per week.

From its primary hub in Nairobi, Jambojet currently serves six destinations, including Mombasa, Diani, Eldoret, Kisumu, and Malindi. The airline also operates direct flights from Mombasa to Kisumu and Eldoret, and plans to begin service to the Coastal Island of Lamu on September 15, 2021.

Karanja Ndegwa, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Jambojet, stated that flying to Goma is one step toward expanding Jambojet’s footprint in Africa. “We are excited about the region’s growth prospects. We have a bold plan to expand our network, and we are proud to be the first low-cost airline to fly this route,” Mr. Karanja said.

To diversify its product offering and complement its scheduled operations, Jambojet introduced Charter services in October 2020, allowing passengers to charter a Jambojet aircraft to various destinations.
