Snapchat has just released a new Avatar lens that shows how you appear in the Metaverse. The lens transforms people into characters from a video game or a Pixar film. This is similar to the Snapchat cartoon face trend, which you may have seen on social media.
Snapchat lenses are not the same as Snapchat filters. Snapchat’s lenses, specifically face lenses, use augmented reality to transform you and your friends into new characters, such as puppies, babies, or, in this case, cartoons. Snapchat filters, on the other hand, are design overlays that you can apply to your snaps. Lens-like experiences are commonly referred to as filters on other platforms, such as Instagram. On TikTok, however, they are referred to as effects.

- Navigate to Avatar by Snapchat.
- Alternatively, you can scan the QR code.
How to Use the Snapchat Cartoon Face Lens
- Launch Snapchat’s most recent version.
- Navigate to the camera screen.
- To the right of the camera button, select the smiling face icon.
- In the bottom right corner of the screen, click “Explore.”
- Enter the word “cartoon” into the search bar.
- Snapchat will display lenses that are related to the one you’re looking at.
- Look for the “Cartoon Face” option and select it.
- To record your video, hold down the camera button.
- Save it to your camera roll or share it with others via social media.
