How to Remove Ads from Redmi/Xiaomi Device 2022 | 100% Effective
Xiaomi is one of the world’s largest smartphone manufacturers, and it leads the smartphone industry in India, owing to its low-cost phones with high specifications. However, hardware is not its only source of revenue; targeted advertising also contributes significantly to its overall revenue. So, here’s how to get rid of ads on any Xiaomi or Redmi device.
Back in 2019, the Chinese tech giant said it strongly believes that serving ads is not an unfair practice. MIUI’s obnoxious and intrusive system ads attest to this. Essentially, the ads in MIUI 12 aren’t going away.
MIUI System Ads is an abbreviation for MIUI System Ads. It is the procedure that allows Xiaomi devices to display advertisements. It stops collecting user data once you revoke its authorization in the Xiaomi settings.
Remove ads by revoking the MSA app’s authorization.
Revocation of MSA (MIUI system ads) authorization is the first step in our journey to disable ads on MIUI devices. Because it is a system app, it will not appear on the home screen.
- Select Password and Security > Authorization and Revocation from the drop-down menu.
- Scroll down and deactivate the button next to the “msa” option. Xiaomi won’t let you do it on the first try, so keep revoking the authorization until it finally lets you.
By disabling MSA, Xiaomi will no longer be able to display MIUI system ads in default apps such as Browser, Security, and so on.
Note: For whatever reason, disabling the MSA in the Xiaomi system settings is insufficient to remove advertisements from several Mi apps. As a result, you must manually turn them off. You can find out how to manually remove ads from Mi apps down below.

Remove advertisements from Mi Security Scan
- Before allowing users to run Google Play Store apps, Mi devices perform a security check on the apps.
- Toggle off recommendations by tapping the cogwheel in the top-right corner during the scan.

- Open the app > Tap the cogwheel in the top-right corner > Turn off ad recommendations.
- Before exiting the app, disable the same toggle in the Cleaner and Boost Speed settings.
Remove advertisements from Mi File Manager
- Navigate to the file manager settings.
- Toggle off the MIUI ad recommendations by tapping on About.
Remove ads from Mi Browser
- Navigate to the browser’s settings > Privacy & security.
- Disable personalized services.
Remove ads from Mi Downloads
- If the Downloads app irritates you, simply go to Settings.
- To disable ads in the Mi Downloads app, uncheck “Show Recommended Content.”
Remove ads from Mi Themes
Simply launch the themes app > tap on the profile in the bottom right corner > select Settings > Disable recommendations.
Remove ads from Mi Video and Mi Music.

- Toggle recommendations off.
To turn off ads in the Mi Video app, follow these steps:
- Open the app > Select Profile > Disable Online Recommendations.
Following all of the steps should result in the removal of all MIUI system ads from your Xiaomi device.
