If you’re unfamiliar with Sorare, it’s a 100% football simulation platform that delivers 1,111 cards in the form of NFT every year. While the most frequent cards are limited to 1,000 copies, others, such as Kylian Mbappé’s, are one-of-a-kind. The forward-center of Paris-Saint-Germain, one of the most popular players on the planet, had his NFT card on Sorare auctioned for roughly 153 ETH.
Indeed, Sorare is built on the Ethereum blockchain, and the player promoted the event on his Instagram account, which helped spread the word. Mbappé’s 2021 card sold for 54,000 euros, 362,000 euros less than the 2022 vintage, making this a tempting placement for the lucky winner.
Last February, the card of Herling Haaland, the star striker of Borussia Dortmund and future Manchester City goalscorer, was auctioned for over 265 ETH, or about 600,000 euros. However, Cryptoast discloses that the card’s owner has been trying to sell it without success.
