Sadly, the Chromecast with Google TV, which was introduced at the very end of 2020, did not get the follow-up we had hoped for. This one has, in fact, only accepted a small number of new features and has mostly been forced to make do with security-related patches and different issues.
One of the primary reasons for this early abandonment seems to be the Chromecast’s limited storage (8 GB). A restriction eventually makes it more difficult to update the system and the apps.
