It’s no surprise that password security continues to be a major concern for individuals and businesses alike. Every year, cybersecurity experts reveal the most commonly used passwords, and the results for 2022, as determined by NordPass, are nothing short of alarming.

The top 10 list is dominated by numerical sequences that are easy to remember but also easy to crack. For example, “123456” and “123456789” take just a second to decrypt, while “12345678” and “12345” take only slightly longer. It’s not much better for those who attempt to be a little more creative, with “111111” and “123123” also appearing on the list.

Even more concerning is the fact that several of the passwords on the list are actual words that can be found in a dictionary. “Password” tops the list, followed by “guest” and “qwerty.”

So, what can you do to ensure that your passwords are secure and not easily hacked? NordPass offers an automatic random code generator that can help you create strong and unique passwords for all of your accounts. Don’t take the risk of having your personal information compromised – take the time to create secure passwords and protect yourself online.
