Samsung officially announced the Galaxy A14 5G at CES 2023. The successor to the Galaxy A13 5G, which was released in December 2021, the Galaxy A14 5G offers a similar technical specification at a more affordable price.
One of the key updates to the Galaxy A14 5G is the 13-megapixel front-facing camera, which is a significant improvement over the 5-megapixel sensor in the previous generation. The screen size has also been slightly increased, from 6.5 inches to 6.6 inches, although it is unclear if the phone’s dimensions have changed as a result. The Galaxy A14 5G comes with Android 13, the latest version of the operating system, which is an improvement over the Android 11 in the previous model.
The rest of the specification remains unchanged, including the FHD+ panel with a 90 Hz refresh rate, MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage (expandable up to 1TB with a microSD card). The camera module features the same sensors as the previous model, including a 50-megapixel main camera, 2-megapixel macro sensor, and 2-megapixel depth sensor.
The Galaxy A14 5G has a 5000 mAh battery, which should offer good battery life, but the 15 W charger means that it takes a long time to charge. Other features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, wired headphones, and Bluetooth 5.2.
Pricing for the Galaxy A14 5G has been announced in dollars at $200, or around €190 excluding tax. It is not yet clear when the phone will be available or how much it will cost in other markets.
