Elon Musk has now laid off 10% of the Twitter staff, costing the company about 200 jobs

According to a New York Times article, Twitter recently announced the layoffs of 200 more workers or 10% of its workforce.

Since Elon Musk acquired the microblogging platform in October of last year, there have been at least eight rounds of employment cuts, bringing the total workforce down to 2,300.

The technical support, engineering, product, data science, support, and subscription divisions have all fired employees. According to the NYT and other sources, some employees got emails late on Saturday night informing them that they were being fired; some employees also tweeted about their employment loss.

In the days following Musk’s takeover of the company last year, Crawford made headlines when she tweeted that workers at the Twitter office occasionally had to #SleepWhereYouWork to make deadlines. Other staff members claimed that they were merely logged out of the system without receiving any prior notice of their termination.

As the head of ad monetization at Musk’s “Twitter 2.0,” Marcin Kadluczka was one such employee.

Similar to Crawford, Kadluczka poked fun at Musk by tweeting that he thinks Twitter can enhance ads in two to three months, but maybe not in a week. Additionally, they tweeted about their employment loss.
